word count for the day: 4059

word of the day: contrite
source: http://www.merriam-webster.com/word-of-the-day/

The baker’s daughter shook her head and went back to her father’s house and cluster of ovens. She wagged a finger at the red mare standing contentedly in the little pen beside the cabin. “Look at you! Not even the grace to look contrite. You took the horse tamer on a wild ride last night, and it’s a wonder you didn’t break both your necks in the bargain!”

I figure that since I have more or less decided to do the word a day dare for NaNoWriMo I will chronicle it here, including the appropriate paragraph. Assuming I remember, I will update the word count with the correct total tomorrow. Or I'll do it before I go to bed...
