Which Diana Wynne Jones Character Are You?
I am Princess Beatrice from Castle in the Air. I was pleased by this result. I remember her as being staunchly practical and tweed-wearing. :D
Royai earrings
...Those are going on my wishlist (or to-make next time I have clips and Sculpey), near the Hardy Boy book earrings... There ought to be Narnia or Middle Earth (Or Myst--how cool could that be?!) earrings in this list to better represent my fandoms, but I can't think of any that I've seen that I really liked.
EDIT: Speaking of Attolia...
Atlas of True Names
I have no words for how cool this is; you'll just have to see it for yourself. Maps + names = AMAZING.

Date: 2012-06-14 03:01 am (UTC)Haha, I turned out to be Princess Beatrice as well. ;)) I remember quite liking her as well. :) Did you get any secondary results? Mine were Vernon Wilkins from Wilkins' Tooth and Ynen from Drowned Ammet. I've read the latter, but can't at all remember who Ynen is...
:D How cute! If you do try your hand at making something like them, you'll have to be sure to show me. And the Hardy Boy ones! It's stuff like this that makes me want to pierce my ears---I could care less about the really pretty stuff (except for a pair of square-cut rubies and some golden bees...); I just want the geeky ones! ;))
Neat! :D I wish I could see more of the maps, but what I can see is pretty cool. :)

Date: 2012-06-15 08:14 pm (UTC)If I make them, I will show them off with much glee. (Square-cut rubies and golden bees ARE geeky. :p )
I wish I had wall space for the maps. I could have a wall covered in maps...

Date: 2012-06-16 03:57 am (UTC):D I shall look forward to it, if the occasion ever occurs. (Why, so they are! Just not quite as overtly so. ;) So, I could wear earrings that would not embarrass certain sisters but still revel in their geekiness and symbolism. ;)) )
Ooh, yes. Meadow feels the same way and always keeps eyes out for interesting maps at booksales. ;))
(I love your new avvy! Is there a story behind it?)

Date: 2012-06-16 03:28 pm (UTC)Out of curiosity, do you wear clip-on earrings?
(It's Diana Wynne Jones, (from here (see also the one on elves) ) and it talks about jewellery... I thought it appropriate. ;)) )

Date: 2012-06-16 09:33 pm (UTC)Not really; I've tried before but I usually take them off pretty quick since they hurt my ears. But then again, I've never had a reason to wear them. ;)) (By the way, Winter is back and I told her about the earrings and showed them to her and she thought they were great. She also said that if you make some pairs and are looking for someone to give them to, she has pierced ears... ;) ;)) )
(Oh, cool! :D I really, really need to read that book. :P I've never found a copy, though.)

I've never found a copy of Tough Guide either. But it looks like a lot of fun.

Hmm...we need to remedy this. At least one of us should get a chance to read it! ;))

Date: 2012-06-19 11:01 pm (UTC)Those True Name maps are fascinating. Just the kind of word-exploration I love. I wish I had the money (and wall space!) for one of those.Thank you for sharing it!
