I'm three words over one day behind. Lovely!

I'm caught up word-count wise! Bonus fact: April has 31 days, so working on a 30 day schedule I'm ahead of the game.* Story-wise, it seems like every other day or so I go back and edit the opening scene(s). I wonder if I'm just putting off the middle?
*This is a sighting of the mythological 31st day of April, a rare and tricky beast. XD

Being caught up lasted all of a day. I ran into the end of my more-or-less visualized set of events and am now floundering in the middle looking for the trail that leads to the end of the story...

I have now written about 10,000 words of 'I have no idea what's going on but maybe I'll eventually find my way to the end' and had the questionably brilliant thought that if I were to sum up this story it would be the main character saying, "I broke the hero" and it'd be like the book I want my hat back which has since become a meme... except this time it would be "I broke the hero can you fix him?" "No." and then the analogy breaks down because well, I came up with it about midnight. *sigh*

As of yesterday, I broke the barely keeping my head above water line I've been laboring under most of the month. Hopefully this small cushion will be enough to see me through to 50,000. The 'second week slump' didn't hit until about week three, but when it did it hit hard and stuck around and caused many doubts about the ending I'd intended to write. :p I'm keeping the ending, and maybe--maybe!--it'll end up being OK. The pacing seems like it might be effective, judging on the amount of words I'm using...

I'd intended to try and cross 50,000 a day ahead of time but that didn't happen I wrote something else instead, silly me.
